Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Project Manager – Pacific Islands (In-Country) 

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the implementation of the Tamanu Electronic Medical Record (EMR) across public hospitals in a Pacific Island Country, and the implementation of the Tupaia data platform for health system reporting.

About the role: 

This 12 month contract (with potential for extension) will be based full-time in a partner Pacific Island Country, with biannual trips back to your home country. This role will lead the implementation of the Tamanu Electronic Medical Record (EMR) across public hospitals, and the implementation of the Tupaia data platform for health system reporting.  

Key responsibilities:

  • Requirements-gathering with stakeholders at the partner country Ministry of Health to ensure the Tamanu EMR and Tupaia reporting platforms are configured to meet local needs, workflows, and health system reporting requirements

  • Configuration of Tamanu EMR and Tupaia, including creation and importation of reference data, user permissions, and translation of requirements into actionable ‘cards’ for the software development team 

  • Delivery of Tamanu EMR and Tupaia training to end-users (health system workforce) targeted to individual needs and digital health literacy  

  • Provide ‘at-the-elbow’ support to Tamanu EMR and Tupaia users during the go-live and post-implementation phase

  • Project documentation including development of work plans, context-specific training materials, a change management strategy, and progress reports

  • Ensure compliance with policies (including Child Protection Policy) and fiduciary responsibilities in the carrying out of contracts

  • Provide software demonstrations and trainings as required on BES and related software, including Tamanu, Tupaia, mSupply and DHIS2

  • Attend meetings and conferences on behalf of BES, including delivering presentations where required

  • Promote BES and BES products and generate revenue leads by collaboration with partner countries and organisations

  • Other duties as reasonably requested by your manager, including support on other projects if required

This position reports to the Tamanu Program Manager. 

About you:

Experience in some (we don't expect all) of the following skills: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in one of: Clinical Health (e.g. Nursing, Medicine), Public Health, Global Health, or related field

  • Clinical experience working in a hospital setting 

  • Experience implementing or working with digital health products, ideally in a clinical setting

  • Experience living or working in low-resource and culturally diverse settings

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work with individuals from a variety of professions (including Project Managers, Health Professionals, and Software Developers)

  • Resilience working in tough environments, with a high level of autonomy and the ability to solve problems, coupled with the ability to recognise when assistance is required and the willingness to ask for that assistance

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure

  • High comfort with and ability to learn new technology
